The word “dryad” is of Greek origin and was the name given to spirits that inhabit trees. They are guardians of the forest. They have different tasks to perform, such as giving the trees their different textured bark, making sure the deciduous trees lose their leaves on time and giving the conifers their pleasant scent. Goomz is still just a wee sapling and hasn’t been assigned a task yet. They must first spend time during the Winter, doing inner exploration and dreaming with the spirits of the ancient trees that came before. Then, come Spring they will awaken with a deeper understanding of their place in the interconnected world and know what their duty is.
Goomz needs lots of love, affection and encouragement to grow up healthy and strong. They want to remind you that although the trees may be sturdy, rooted and unwavering they are also fluid like nimble dancers. Watch their branches bend and sway in the wind. They flow with adversity instead of resisting.
Trees represent equilibrium. Grounded in the Earth yet spreading their limbs to the sky. They live in both the material and spiritual realm. Flowing with ease between the two. Goomz says,”You can do this too!” Be the tree.
Goomz is a hand crafted, one-of-a-kind figurine. Created by using my two hands, Aves Apoxie clay, glass eyes, love, acrylic paint intuition and magic. Goomz has nine siblings that were created individually alongside them. Goomz gets restless and feels neglected if left in one place for too long. I recommend picking them up and holding them often. Even moving their display location from time to time to keep them feeling loved and seen.
